JOB DEFINITION:
Under general supervision, the Secretary II performs a wide variety of clerical work. The Secretary II performs an extensive amount of typing, filing and recording of information. The employee deals directly with student records. The employee works under the supervision of a school office manager and / or administrator.

The School Office Secretary II frequently lifts/moves boxes weighing up to 30 pounds and/or maneuvers up to 50 pounds. The employee works under tight, inflexible deadlines. The tasks require extreme accuracy and concentration; the employee works with continual interruptions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma and up to one year of advanced training / experience in the specific job requirements. Comprehensive knowledge of grammar and the ability to use correct speech and compose routine correspondence is required. The position requires the ability to understand technical instructions (computers).
The position requires general knowledge of some technical procedures or work activity. Working knowledge of school district practices or basic policies is necessary. Job proficiency can be acquired in six months to one year.
