Commercial Painting Contractor

The role of this job is office administration, payroll, and interfacing with contractors and architects to ensure a smooth flow of the job in the field. This will ensure maximum productivity on the job through lack of delays and confusion due to things like color choice, materials, and communication with the office. The purpose of the bookkeeper duties is to accurately record financial data in the financial system and provide reports to the owner so he can manage his business. Payroll is also part of this job’s duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN A COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIP WITH ALL OTHER DEPARTMENTS OF THE COMPANY.
  • UTILIZE SOFTWARE AND TOOLS TO STREAMLINE PRECONSTRUCTION PROCESSES, ENHANCE COLLABORATION, AND IMPROVE PROJECT DOCUMENTATION.
  • REVIEW AWARDED CONTRACTS FOR ACCURACY PRIOR TO FORWARDING CONTRACT FOR SIGNATURE.
  • COLLABORATE WITH VENDORS AND SUPPLIERS TO OBTAIN COMPETITIVE PRICING AND NEGOTIATE FAVORABLE TERMS.
  • PARTICIPATE, AS REQUIRED WITH DEVELOPERS, GENERAL CONTRACTORS, COMMERCIAL BUILDERS, AND ARCHITECTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF GATHERING PERTINENT INFORMATION WHICH MAY BE REQUIRED TO PREPARE A PAINT, WALLCOVERING, HIGH PERFORMANCE, OR SPECIALTY COATING SUBMITTAL FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO STARTING AN AWARDED PROJECT.
  • ENTER MATERIAL INVOICES DAILY INTO QUICKBOOKS.
  • ENSURES THAT ALL COMPANY TRANSACTIONS ARE DONE IN AN ETHICAL AND PRUDENT MANNER.
  • Maintaining financial records
  • Organizing and managing receipts from superintendents and recording in Quickbooks
  • Maintaining accuracy in our timekeeping software
  • Also ensure accuracy, compliance with laws and regulations, and timely payment of bills, employees, and subcontractors.
  • MAINTAINS A WELL-GROOMED, PROFESSIONAL APPEARANCE APPROPRIATE FOR THE POSITION AND SITUATION
  • FOLLOWS ALL INSTRUCTIONS (WRITTEN AND VERBAL) AS GIVEN BY THE OWNER.
  • COMPLETES AND SUBMITS ALL REPORTS REQUIRED AND REQUESTED BY OWNER.
  • ADHERES TO COMPANY POLICIES AND PROCEDURES TO ASSURE A SMOOTH TRANSITION FROM ESTIMATING TO THE FIELD.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English
  • Mathematical - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, percentages.
  • Work with a sense of urgency.

EDUCATION

  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • At least 2 years’ experience working as a Bookkeeper is required
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods.
  • QuickBooks experience required
  • Microsoft Office experience required
  • MUST BE ABLE TO COMPREHEND AND PERFORM BASIC BUSINESS MATHEMATICAL CALCULATIONS, INCLUDING ESTIMATING.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO READ SCHEMATICS/DRAWINGS/PLANS.
  • MUST BE COMPUTER LITERATE.
  • MUST HAVE GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILLS, BOTH VERBAL AND WRITTEN (IN ENGLISH) TO INTERACT WITH CLIENTS, EMPLOYEES, VENDORS, AND CONTRACTORS

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
