Position SummaryThe Marketing and Graphics Manager is responsible for the overall marketing and graphic design needs of the Birmigham Squadron, the G-League affiliate team of the New Orleans Pelicans. This role is multi-faceted and is critical to the overall marketing strategy, including graphic design, traditional and digital, social media, email marketing, website content, , special events, and more! This role works closely with all internal departments at the Squadron, including game experience, public relations, business operations, ticket sales, corporate partnerships, and more!
This is a full-time position reporting to the General Manager, Business Operations and is based in Birmingham, Alabama.
What you will be doing:Develop, manage, and oversee a comprehensive marketing plan in collaboration with internal departments, to include advertising campaigns (social, digital, organic, etc.)Utilize a full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) to create graphics for, but not limited to: social media, websites, in-game signage, digital signage, promotion items and giveaways, mailers, etc.Full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite to include Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. Must provide graphic design work samples.Ensure the Squadron's corporate partnership marketing collateral is in line with Squadron brand guidelines, to ensure the brand is top of mind in the community and with our partner's customers.Design, create and deploy email marketing campaigns to drive sales that ultimately deepen fan engagement.Place all media buys for various advertisiting campaigns.Manage all Squadron social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X; as well as the team's website content. This includes planning content calendars, creating and editing content, updating, loading content, etc. The team's website is housed by the G-League/NBA.Develop, plan and execute special events for fans and ticketholders; such as season ticket holder appreciation events, community events (in partnership with Community Outreach Manager); this includes developing the event as well as the graphics, messaging, and overall aesthetic of the event.Liaise with the New Orleans Pelicans' marketing and digital teams; consult them on key decisions and leverage their knowledge and resources.Ensure league-wide marketing initiatives are properly supported by the team.Special projects as needed.What you'll bring:
SkillsBachelor's degree in marketing, communication or a closely related field.3 years of professional experience in marketing, advertising or communication.Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects with competing deadlines.Ability to meet deadlines with internal departments, outside vendors, and third parties.Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Dreamweaver (or basic HMTL understanding). Must be able to provide samples of design work.Proficiency with email marketing. Experience with Marketo is a plus.Excellent writing and storytelling abilities. Must be able to provide writing samples.Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.Must be available for all home games, team events, and community events.Must be available to assist with away game coverage with social, digital, etc.What we offer:
