Location : Bobcat Citizen Preschool
Reports To : Bobcat Citizen Program Lead & Benson Primary School Principal
Start Date : Immediate

TERMS & BENEFITS : 10 month position, 35 hours / week; medical, dental, vision, life benefits; 403(b); 10 sick days and 2 personal days; preschool / child care discounts; mandatory participation in Arizona State Retirement System.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Applicants must have high school diploma or equivalent AND minimum of 3-6 months experience in childcare, education or working with children in related activities. If applicant does not have an Associates degree, then applicant must be able to pass a Highly Qualified paraprofessional test.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES shall include, but not be limited to, the following :
- Observes and monitors control of students' behavior in the classroom and other areas.
- Supervises large and small groups of students.
- Maintains ratios and keeps a daily attendance roster, including children going to and from the program.
- Participates in the children's activities by interacting, observing, extending language experiences, modeling desired behavior and facilitating life skills, and conflict resolution as using only positive guidance techniques.
- Establishes, maintains and promotes a classroom atmosphere which ensures the emotional and physical safety and well-being of students and emphasizes mutual respect, self-worth, self-discipline, cooperation, consideration and responsibility.
- Assesses student needs and develops, implements and evaluates daily lesson plans for students to include scheduled activities and materials.
- Effectively work with a diverse population, including those with various individual needs.
- Plans, organizes and displays classroom materials, space and time appropriate to curricular activities.
- Participates in a daily cleaning routine.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with staff, representatives of local and state agencies, families and the public.
- Attends and actively participates in all required staff meetings and professional development requirements.
- Follows rules, regulations, and policies of the following regulatory agencies; Arizona Department of Child Care Licensing, Department of Economic Security, Quality First Criteria, and the Benson School District Governing Board Polices and Procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned
OTHER FUNCTIONS : Perform other related duties as assigned which may include serving meals to children in the program,
assisting with basic hygiene, diapering, assistance in the development of independent toileting and conduct basic cleaning and sanitizing during the school day.
