Preschool Director

General Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Director to lead Tucson Baptist Preschool, ensuring a warm, safe, and enriching environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with a genuine passion and calling for early childhood education.

This person will be relationally-driven who partners with teachers and families to fulfill the mission of the preschool. This person will be highly organized, an excellent communicator, able to exercise good judgement and be a non-anxious presence in all types of situations. This person will also be one who is committed to, and supports, the vision and mission of Tucson Baptist Church and its leadership.

Education and Experience

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have completed an associates degree (with 6 months experience) or an undergraduate degree (with 3 months experience) in early childhood education or closely related field

Benefits and Compensation

• Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 per year

• Must be social media savvy and able to learn preschool systems
• Must be comfortable addressing and resolving conflict using Matthew 18 principles
• Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

Primary Job Functions

Leadership and Staff Management

• Oversee the daily operations of the preschool, ensuring compliance with all state licensing and regulatory requirements
• Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate teaching staff to maintain a high standard of professionalism
• Observe teachers regularly and advise on their classroom leadership, curriculum implementation, parent relationships and adherence to the mission of the Preschool

Parent and Community Engagement

• Establish and maintain strong communication channels with parents and guardians including organizing events to keep families engaged
• Ensure website and social media platforms are maintained and used regularly
• Manage school calendar and direct any special events

Curriculum and Program Development

• Develop and implement a comprehensive, age-appropriate curriculum that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, and physical, and spiritual development

Health and ADHS Licensing

• Maintain organized records of attendance, registration, student enrollment, health reports, and licensing reports
• Ensure full compliance with ADHS by auditing existing policies and procedures
• Implement health and safety protocols, including following established emergency procedures

Strategic Planning and Business Management

• Develop marketing, advertising and recruitment plans as needed to maximize school enrollment
• Conduct tours for prospective families and manage the enrollment process and materials
• Manage and monitor preschool finances to stay within approved budget limits

Church Relations

• Meet regularly with Executive Pastor
• Foster strong working relationships with TBC Children’s Director and coordinate with them on classroom needs, systems, and cleanliness.

*Other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Pastor to support the preschool and ministry of Tucson Baptist Church.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
