Reports ToTechnology Coordinator
ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of knowledge, skills and abilities.

  • Assists in maintaining a comprehensive and efficient system for inventory of instructional technology equipment and software.
  • Sets up, troubleshoots, and repairs devices and peripherals as needed both on site and remotely.
  • Assists in the installation of new computers and the reconfiguration of existing computers, software and networks.
  • Performs preventive maintenance on technology equipment and/or arranges for servicing of equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Performs extensive yearly maintenance on all computers and peripherals including, but not limited to, removing covers, vacuuming, defragment drives, removing profiles and inappropriate content, and testing for performance.
  • Maintains a neat and organized work area.
  • Keep records of repairs and fixes for future references.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends in information and educational technology.
  • Attends and participates in Technology Department meetings.
  • Researches solutions to user problems, and identifies solutions and alternatives that will help meet user objectives.
  • Offer timely technical support and teach users how to utilize computers correctly.
  • Communicate professionally within the school community
  • Assists and supervises computer repairs performed by outside vendors.
  • Adherence to current best practices for cyber security as determined by Technology Coordinator.
  • Assist Technology Coordinator and Network Administrator when needed.
  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Technology Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • An Associate's Degree in a Computer Related Field or equivalent experience or certifications preferred.
  • Successful experience in computer hardware troubleshooting and repair in an institutional setting.
  • Ability to work independently.Effective problem-solving, human relations and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational planning skills.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and IT components.
  • Familiarity with Windows/Apple/Chrome operating systems and software.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education.
  • Valid driver’s license and provide own transportation.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Must pass required criminal history background check.

Must be NJ resident within one year from date of hire
