Job SummaryUnder the direction of the Director of Buildings & Grounds, the Interim Head Custodian leads and directs the school custodial staff. Performs environmental service tasks, cleaning and maintenance of school buildings, minor mechanical repairs, and support services for day and evening school activities. The Interim Head Custodian assists in providing a safe, comfortable and clean learning environment for students, staff, and faculty.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Cleans and maintains all assigned workspaces
- Checks areas on a daily basis to ensure work has been completed.
- Assists internal and external groups using facilities. Prepares the gymnasium, classrooms or other areas for athletics, activities and meetings when necessary.
- Performs rounds to ensure building security.
- Assists with seasonal grounds work as directed.
- Performs repair to furniture, equipment and all building systems as directed.
- Attends meetings, workshops and training sessions as directed by supervisor.
- Monitors facilities for maintenance needs and emergency situations and reports to the Director of Buildings & Grounds.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Boiler Black Seal License.
- Exceptional Attendance
Must be NJ resident within one year from date of hire
