Berkeley Research Group is Hiring a Remote Computer Forensics Associate Director

BRG’s Discovery and Forensic Technology Services team (“DFTS”) assists its clients with a wide range of challenges in the areas of computer forensics, digital investigations, and eDiscovery. BRG experts design and implement custom-tailored solutions in order to drive efficiency and maximize litigation outcomes.
Our team is seeking to add an Associate Director. The successful candidate will have demonstrated private sector consulting experience in computer forensics, investigations, and eDiscovery. This role requires a highly motivated problem solver with strong analytical skill, a dedication to premium client service, the ability to work autonomously, and a desire to advance within the organization and the industry. This position will be part of a highly collaborative team that manages all phases of its projects from solution design and budgeting, to data collection/analysis/review, to expert reporting and testimony.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with clients and other team members regarding client requests, team load balancing, and help appropriately set and manage expectations.
  • Plan and execute digital evidence collection, both on-site and remotely.
  • Utilize both industry standard and custom software tools to conduct a wide variety of data analyses.
  • Formulate actionable results and recommendations for next steps in the projects.
  • Deliver clearly communication in client briefings, and render supporting reporting as matters’ needs require.
  • Assist with the drafting and editing of detailed expert reports in litigation.
  • Assist with deposition preparation, for both BRG testifying experts and opposing experts.
  • As appropriate, serve as the testifier on BRG matters.
  • Possess and demonstrate a “can do” and “client first” attitude and mindset, including working out of normal business hours when necessary.
  • Travel as required to satisfy clients’ case needs (minimal notice not uncommon).
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the areas of computer science, computer forensics, or management of information systems;
  • Minimum of ten (10 ) years of relevant experience in computer forensics, eDiscovery, compliance investigation;
  • Strong proficiency in the use of forensic acquisition and analysis tools such as EnCase, FTK, Axiom, XWays, Inspector, and Cellebrite UFED;
  • Industry certifications considered valuable to this position include EnCE / CCE / CCO/ ACE / GCFE / etc;
  • Demonstrable subject matter experience with computer operating systems and file systems, relevant forensic artifacts, storage and archiving environments (such as Google Workspace and Microsoft M365/Purview), email, messaging, and collaboration, platforms, cloud storage solutions, and interpretation of server logs.

Salary Range: $125,000 – $300,000 per year
