The drafter is responsible for creating accurate technical construction drawings, building and site maps and building specifications. using manual and computer assisted (AutoCAD architecture and Revit) techniques.
Provide design services to the company on the design for new or renovation construction projects and office space utilization. Coordinates with internal customers and third parties/vendors to develop facility and interior design options/solutions and the creation of construction plans. Develop schematic design cost estimates and project budget cost packages. Provide project plan reviews to ensure bid packages are as desired and building floor plans and furniture layouts are in compliance with federal, state, and local building codes as well as compliance with ADA standards. (40%)
Develop and maintain the company’s building plans to ensure the accurate allocation of building costs are applied to individual business units and affiliates through the operating agreement. (30%)
Develop and oversee construction project specifications and scope of services, requests for proposals, bid reviews and coordinate with procurement on supplier and contractor selection for all aspects of building construction, interior design and building furnishings. (15%)
Understand and implement physical security standards and CIP requirements as necessary for departments and buildings. (5%) Aid in developing Business Continuity plans and as it impacts MEC facilities. (5%)
Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (0-5%)
Associate degree in drafting or equivalent technical experience, typically three years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate degree.
Two years of work-related experience.
Technical expertise related to use of computer assisted drafting software (AutoCAD architecture and Revit) and related hardware. Short-term/project management planning skills to plan workflow, coordinate projects and resolve conflicting demands.
Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
