Job DescriptionAs a technician assigned to an operations district, demonstrates advanced functional skills in at least one functional specialty (corrosion, compression, controls, compliance, measurement, pipeline) and two associated fields identified as supporting functions; applies skills to identify and resolve specialty-specific operating issues in a district; completes general preventive maintenance tasks as assigned and demonstrates an overall seasoned knowledge of pipeline operations.
ResponsibilitiesCompletes preventive maintenance tasks related to turbine compression and all related subsystems (including start/stop, operation, safety shutdown and controls), meter stations, pipeline facilities, corrosion control and right-of-way maintenance and provides operations problem resolution support to an assigned district. Interfaces with technical support, government agencies, local emergency planning committees, emergency responders, one-call agencies, landowners and contractors. Performs public education activities including formal presentations. Acts as a functional specialist at a district level in identifying and resolving operational issues and actively provides on-the-job training for other district personnel. Oversees district projects unique to one's functional expertise. Acts as an evaluator of other technicians to ensure they demonstrate operator qualifications in compliance with federal requirements. Understands and applies company procurement and contracting procedures to obtain third party services in support of assigned projects.
