- Receive repair orders from the dispatcher.
- Perform work as outlined on the repair order efficiently and accurately, according to dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform the repair.
- Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
- Notify the service advisor immediately if additional work outlined is unnecessary or required and if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Document work performed.
- Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician.
- Supervise the work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
- Attend factory-sponsored training classes.
- Keep the shop area neat and clean, and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and immediately report any accidents to a manager or supervisor.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid in-state driver's license and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen for illegal substances
- Authorized to work in the United States
