Overview

The VP Process Optimization identifies areas where improvements in efficiency, productivity, or quality can be made; owns the development and implementation of process changes that support the organization's strategy.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include:

• Oversees objectives related to improving process efficiency and organizational effectiveness.

• Identifies metrics and performance indicators and collects relevant data; tracks progress towards goals.

• Conducts root cause analysis to determine inefficiencies or weaknesses.

• Educates employees on process improvement initiatives and resulting process changes.

• Owns the analysis and testing of current processes and systems to determine effectiveness and efficiency.

• Owns data collection, root cause analysis of issues or problems, and develops and recommends solutions according to the current and future needs of the business.

• Directs process change implementation and testing, and evaluates changes to ensure they result in measurable organizational improvements.

• Develops and delivers training programs or presentations communicating process revisions to the organization.

• Develops and implements overarching operational strategies aimed at maximizing efficiency and productivity.

• Applies Six Sigma methodology to organizational processes.

• Has full authority for all Six Sigma business process improvement projects.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 15 or more years of experience.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees.
  • Responsible for aligning departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization.
  • Develops policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
  • Has extensive experience with the concepts and principles of one or more related fields or departments.
  • Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Ability to drive strategic direction.
  • Decision-making skills.
  • Planning skills.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Performs work with a high degree of latitude.
  • Handles the most complex issues.
  • Possesses expert knowledge of subject matter.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate a group.
  • Is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
  • A master's degree may be preferred.

Travel Requirements

  • Expected to travel 50% of the time.
