Berry College is Hiring an Assistant Registrar Near Mount Berry, GA

Job Description:

The Assistant Registrar primarily supports faculty and students in areas including course scheduling, faculty grading, and student registration. This position plays an important role in supporting the Registrar in day-to-day operational decision-making, managing the College Catalog, and improving internal processes, forms, and the maintenance of academic data. The position requires both technical and relationship-building skills and collaboration with other Berry office staff, faculty, and administration is essential. The ideal candidate will be prepared to mentor and support students within a diverse campus community.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Maintain courses in the student SIS (Jenzabar), reflecting course descriptions, pre-requisites, co-requisites, and related data. Work with Academic Departments each semester to create and maintain course section schedules.
  • Oversee the official College Catalogs (Acalog), updating policy and course data approved by the Academic Council and Graduate Council.
  • Support student registration during pre-registration and add/drop and create individualized courses as needed.
  • Work with the Registrar to coordinate final grade submission by faculty and the production of Probation/Suspension/Dean's Lists.
  • Initiate improvements in the presentation and processing of forms.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a higher education setting, preferably in a Registrar's Office or other administrative or student-support office.
  • Previous experience working with student information systems (SIS) in the college setting. Experience with Jenzabar's SIS is preferred.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel
  • Experience maintaining confidential data and working with database reporting tools.
  • Proven track record of successful collaboration with students and faculty
  • Skill with creative problem-solving and conflict resolution
