Pay is commensurate with experience within a range of $18.75 - $19.75 per hour. This position is 19 hours or less per week, not benefits eligible.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of the Behavioral Health Specialist will be to provide a range of community based services specified youth and their families.

Some specific duties include:

  • Providing services as a member of a pool of Behavioral Health Specialist staff, to be activated on an as-needed basis for attendant service
  • Assisting in developing and providing structured activities
  • Maintaining a safe and productive environment during the time spent in attendance with the child/adolescent
  • Providing transportation to and from various activities or appointments as indicated by the treatment plan or as instructed by the QMHP
  • Providing services in a variety of settings including, but not limited to, the child/adolescent's home, the school, or another community setting
  • Delivering reimbursable hours of service compliant with established standards

Qualifications:

  • 21 years old; or a minimum of 19 years old, and must be at least 3 years older that the children they are providing services for. Prefer some college education in social work, or related field, but not mandatory.
  • Must have a High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass required security background checks;
  • Reliable transportation, automobile insurance, and a valid, unrestricted driver's license;
  • Experience in or knowledge of issues in working with severely emotionally disturbed youth and families is preferred;
