Job Description

Job title: Chemical Dependency Counselor (Behavioral Health Technician)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Chemical Dependency Counselor to join our team of healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will work with individuals suffering from substance abuse disorders to provide counseling, support, and guidance throughout their recovery journey. This position is crucial in helping clients overcome their dependencies and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct assessments to determine clients' treatment needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients
  • Educate clients on the effects of substance abuse and the benefits of recovery
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, social workers, and other professionals to coordinate treatment plans
  • Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field
  • Certification or licensure as a Chemical Dependency Counselor preferred
  • Previous experience working with individuals with substance abuse disorders
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy and compassion for those struggling with addiction
  • Knowledge of addiction treatment methods and therapies
