Job Description

Job Title: Nursing Manager/Director

Job Summary:

As a Nursing Manager/Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the nursing department within a healthcare facility. You will lead and coordinate a team of nurses, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, adherence to nursing standards, and compliance with healthcare regulations. By providing strategic leadership, you will contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Develop and implement nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure effective patient care.

2. Supervise and coordinate the nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.

3. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create and maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.

4. Monitor and evaluate nursing activities, ensuring adherence to standards of practice and regulatory requirements.

5. Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and overall nursing performance.

6. Manage the department's budget, allocate resources, and optimize operational efficiency.

7. Foster a collaborative and positive work culture within the nursing department.

8. Stay updated with advancements in nursing practices, research, and technology to improve patient care and outcomes.

9. Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and teamwork to ensure comprehensive patient care.

10. Act as a liaison between nursing staff, patients, families, and healthcare providers.

11. Handle and resolve patient and employee concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner.

12. Maintain accurate records of nursing services, activities, and performance indicators.

13. Ensure compliance with infection control measures and other safety protocols.

14. Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.

15. Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards in the healthcare industry.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

2. Valid nursing license (Registered Nurse/RN) in the state of practice.

3. Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role within a nursing department.

4. In-depth knowledge of nursing practices, principles, and procedures.

5. Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, accreditation, and compliance requirements.

6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

7. Ability to make critical decisions, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

8. Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant healthcare technologies.

9. Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

10. Strong organizational and time management skills.

11. Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients, families, and staff.
