Job Title: Registered Nurse Operating Room RN

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse Operating Room RN to join our healthcare team. As an Operating Room RN, you will be responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical operations and ensuring the highest quality patient care. Your expertise in monitoring patients, anticipating surgeon's needs, and maintaining a sterile surgical environment will be crucial to successfully performing in this role. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled professional with excellent communication and critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Preparing patients for surgeries by conducting thorough assessments and obtaining necessary medical history.

2. Setting up and arranging surgical instrument trays for specific procedures.

3. Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other necessary supplies.

4. Monitoring patients' vital signs and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the operation.

5. Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.

6. Documenting and maintaining accurate patient records, including pre and post-operative care.

7. Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a sterile surgical environment.

8. Responding promptly to emergencies and providing immediate interventions as needed.

9. Educating patients and their families about pre and post-operative care instructions.

10. Participating in ongoing professional development programs and staying updated with the latest surgical techniques and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree preferred.

3. Proven experience working as an Operating Room RN.

4. Excellent knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile techniques.

5. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.

8. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

9. Ability to be a team player and collaborate effectively with others.

10. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
