Maintenance Technician Electrician

JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician performs various job functions in the Maintenance Department
as required. The Maintenance Technician reports to the Plant Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Performs preventative maintenance, repairs equipment and assist with installation of equipment
2. Makes electrical and mechanical repairs or installation with a minimum or no supervision
3. Performs weekly, monthly and yearly OSHA/DNR/EPA required inspections
4. Uses a cutting torch, welder or grinder in a safe manner to repair plant equipment
5. Repairs Power Tools on a as needed basis
6. Maintains the preventive maintenance program
7. Assists the Safety Manager and Plant Superintendent with daily Safety issues
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. Education: Technical associates’ degree or at least 2 years’ experience in the maintenance field.
2. Experience: Two years’ experience in the maintenance field with electrical and computer skills.
3. Skills: Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair and maintenance. The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull and carry objects. The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, forming, positioning, and moving materials or in manipulating things such as hand tools and hoist. Good communications skills, ability to work alone as well as with others.
4. Requirements: Operator must work in a safe manner and must have a safe work record. Safety must be the first and foremost concern as these machines are capable of great bodily harm.
