As a QA Engineer II with the Inspired Discovery team, you will work with Product Managers, User Experience Designers, Architects, and other team members to modernize and build products that align to the product team’s vision and strategy. The engineering of these products will leverage multi-cloud platforms, human centered design, Agile and DevOps principles to deliver industry leading solutions at high velocity with unrivaled quality. The team delivers digital customer experiences across Best Buy that boost excitement for new and noteworthy products and drive stickier, long-lasting engagement. We believe that discovery can happen at any point in the customer journey, whether it’s during an unplanned moment, in the afterglow of a recent purchase, or when a customer is ready to upgrade their tech. We lean into emerging tech (e.g. generative AI), exclusive content, and personalization to amplify the most important and relevant stories in consumer technology.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on site at a Best Buy location and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process. For this role, you must be located within a drivable distance to our office in Richfield, Minnesota, or Atlanta, Georgia.
What You Will Do

• Provide work direction for test initiatives
• Provide expertise in testing and test plan creation
• Work with development teams to ensure application design is testable
• Write and execute manual test scripts as needed
• Write and execute automated test scripts as needed
• Efficiently log and track Defects in JIRA
• Interact with multiple teams for integration testing and for test data needs

Minimum Requirements

• 2 or more years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience
• 2 or more years of experience testing web and mobile applications, both manual and automated
• 1 or more years of experience with REST APIs and/or GraphQL as backend data sources with the ability to test and validate responses at this level.

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• 6 or more years experience writing test plans, executing manual tests and building automation scripts.
• 6 or more years automation testing experience on web and/or mobile applications
• 6 or more years manual testing experience on web and/or mobile applications
• 3 or more years experience with testing tools such as Cypres, Webdriver IO, Appium, Sauce Labs, Chrome Dev Tools, PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, Charles Proxy, Jenkins or Github actions
• 1 or more years of experience testing with GraphQL
• Experience using kibana, splunk or other logging software to triage issues and validate behavior
• Experience using SQL to validate database data or as part of automation scripts
• Ability to partner with engineers and product managers to understand requirements
• Ability to create test cases to cover all functional scenarios
• Ability to assist and triage production issues as needed
