Scope of the Role The Product Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring that BCP’s products meet all regulatory and legal standards applicable in the markets where they are sold. This role is crucial in preventing legal risks, ensuring customer safety, and maintaining the company's reputation by guaranteeing that products comply with all pertinent regulations. The Product Quality Compliance Manager collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to integrate quality requirements into product design, manufacturing, and distribution processes.
Reporting Structure The Product Compliance Manager is a key member of the Product Quality Team and reports to the Sr. Director of Global Sourcing. This position also partners with key cross-functional team members across the organization.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
  • Stay updated with changes in regulations and standards that affect BCP’s products. Ensure that all products comply with international, federal, and state laws and standards before they are launched and throughout their lifecycle.
  • Evaluate potential compliance risks associated with the product features, materials, and operational processes. Develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of compliance documentation, including certifications, testing results, and product safety assessments. Prepare reports as required.
  • Work closely with product development, engineering, marketing, and quality assurance teams to integrate compliance requirements into product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on compliance issues and ensure that all staff are aware of their compliance responsibilities.
  • Oversee and audit suppliers and third-party manufacturers to ensure they meet compliance standards.
  • Coordinate testing of products to ensure they meet required standards and obtain necessary certifications.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competitor compliance strategies to ensure BCP’s competitive edge and regulatory alignment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and government agencies regarding product compliance.
  • Continuously improve compliance processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and accountability withing the team and across the organization.
  • Lead a team, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure team members meet and exceed individual and collective goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product compliance, regulatory affairs, quality management, or a related field within the industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and standards such as FCC, UL, CPSC, Prop 65, RoHS, REACH, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address compliance issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with different stakeholders.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure that all compliance aspects are covered.
  • Certification in Quality Management (e.g., CQM, CQE, ASQ certification) preferred.
  • Certification in compliance or regulatory affairs preferred.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing methodologies preferred.
