Best Endodontics of Evanston is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Evanston, IL

Overview

Best Endodontics of Evanston is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a positive attitude, a warm professional demeanor, strong organizational and administrative skills, and be service-oriented. You should also be able to multitask, take initiative, anticipate the needs of others, and work well in a team environment with a sense of humor and enthusiasm. 

This is a full-time position, working a 4-day week; $19-$22 hourly (based on previous experience).

Benefits include: Onsite Dental Assistant training through Surgical Operating Microscope, Health, Vision and Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, PTO, Paid Holidays, Uniform Reimbursement, Paid Indoor Parking, CE reimbursement.

Responsibilities

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist doctors through four handed dentistry using a surgical operating microscope.
  • Maintains clinical notes for patients documenting pertinent information in the patient charts. 
  • Reviews patient schedule one day prior to ensure readiness for treatment. 
  • Opens office and operatories by turning on all computers, setting up sterilization for the day, and ensuring rooms are ready for the first treatment. 
  • Reviews medical and dental histories of patients and takes vital signs of the patient and communicates this information to the doctor. 
  • Obtains dental radiographs and cone beam scans on patients.
  • Assists doctors in the management of medical and dental emergencies.
  • Prepares and monitors patients requesting Nitrous Gas.
  • Remain after hours for emergency patients.
  • Provide a high level of patient experience through communicating comfort options, patient education, and treatment expectations. 
  • Provides patients with post-operative instructions prescribed by the dentist. 
  • Generates consult and post-operative reports to be sent to referring dentist.
  • Collaborates with front and back office to ensure dentists’ schedules run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Communicates treatment plan with Front Desk team.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and procedures. 
  • Monitors and maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipates needed supplies, and communicates the need to the Manager. 
  • Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA. 
  • Assists with daily office cleaning responsibilities. 
  • Properly closes out operatories at the end of shift to assure operatories are clean, restocked and patient ready.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

Dental Assistant experience (1 year)

Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology

Knowledge of dental radiographs

Knowledge of dental software programs

Basic computer knowledge.
