The Material Planner is responsible for developing the materials requirement plan and tracking and expediting the flow of all incoming customer supplied raw materials and packaging components necessary for production timelines. This position interfaces with various departments that are impactful to the total production process and is collaborative with key management roles to ensure the successful production schedules are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Works closely with Purchasing, Planners, and other internal teams to develop the material requirements plan for purchased and customer supplied raw materials and components.
- Works with Business Development and customers to manage the inbound of materials to meet production plans while ensuring proper warehouse space allocation.
- Provides a raw material and component forecast to customers.
- Provides material requirements plan to the procurement team.
- Expedites and de-expedites orders based on material availability, department resources, warehouse space and customer service requirements.
- Ensures that all product/material is ordered & released to manufacturing to meet operational deadlines and updated accordingly on Master Production Schedules.
- Assists in material shortage investigations and outcomes.
- Manages customer supplied materials inventory trackers and provides reports as required by BD.
- Suggests changes in the quantity and timing of purchase requisitions as required by changes to inventory, production schedules and demands.
- Creates 0 value purchase orders for management of customer raw materials and components.
- Partners with warehouse & purchasing to resolve errors or conflicts of receipts.
- Implements decisions that add value to the Supply Chain department.
- Follows established department SOP's, cGMP regulations, and batch record instructions.
- Complies with all Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
- Maintains a safe work environment and operates in a safe manner.
- Performs other related job duties related to the job, as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience.
- Experience working with ERP system and understanding of MPS management concepts.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work cooperatively with employees at all levels and remain flexible in decision-making.
- Communicates orally with management, employees, co-workers, vendors, suppliers, governmental compliance agencies, and the general public by telephone or in person, in one-on-one or group settings.
- Regularly uses a telephone, computer (e-mail) and fax for communication.
- Required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time during the course of work shift.
- Requires incumbent to sit and operate computer for extended periods of time during course of work day, and the ability to proficiently use the computer key-board for typing.
- Routinely required to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, and reach, pull, push, and tilt object in the performance of job function.
- Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing.
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Personal Protective Equipment provided as necessary.

Together We Grow!"This position is currently classified as on-site.Base Salary Range: $24.00 – 29.00 per hour, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Holidays, Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program.
The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
