And you can be part of the group that helps make that happen. Best Friends is searching for animal care volunteers to join our team. As an emergency response animal care specialist, you will
Provide animal care support at shelters dealing with staffing shortages or disease outbreaks
Support the needs of shelters and animals during a disaster by providing critical supplies or lifesaving transports
Clean and sanitize animal housing areas, prepare meals, and exercise animals
Deploy to areas across the country on short notice
Spend 7 days on deployment, as needed, at least once per year
Participate in volunteer engagement trainings and activities throughout the year
