The Acute Care Services Clinical Director works under the direction and supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer. The Acute Care Director functions as an integral member of the patient care team, responsible for the clinical direction of staff members, quality outcomes, and financial health of the reporting units. The Acute Care Director has the 24/7 responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, policies and procedures, goals of the hospitals and the department and their effect on patient care. This individual serves as the expert, role model and resource to the clinical team and care integrator for patients. The shifts will vary to meet the needs of both nightshift and dayshift staff. The Acute Care Services Director exercises autonomy in performing the assigned responsibilities and functions cooperatively with staff and management to support the mission, vision values and strategic plan.
This Acute Care Services Clinical Director work closely with all members of the Leadership Council and oversees a house-wide, functional, multidisciplinary, and service oriented team that includes the ICU/PCU, Medical/Surgical, and Rehab Nursing Units.
