Our goal is to fundamentally alter the residential solar landscape. We believe that our unique mix of software, managed service offerings, highly skilled staff, and company culture are positioned to do just that, and the industry is already taking notice. As we enter our 3rd year in business, we have established a clear product-market fit and are experiencing exponential growth in all the important metrics including customers, deal pipeline, revenue, profitability, and headcount. Today, our customers include many of the largest residential solar installers (EPCs) in the industry. At this time, we are seeking a talented Director of Operations to report directly to and be the right hand of the Founders. In this position, over time, you will have the opportunity to assume full operational responsibility and accountability for the day to day operations of all departments and the overall P&L of the company as it grows.
About The JobThis is a unique opportunity for a financial and operations professional to grow into the day to day operator of what is today a company experiencing explosive, hockey-stick growth and play a key role in driving scalability. The ideal candidate may have experience as an Analyst or Associate in Private Equity or Investment Banking on deal teams with responsibility for due diligence, valuations, financial model development, and related tasks. It is not enough to see the model and see the moves, this job requires equal parts strategic vision and front-line implementation. Applicants must understand and be prepared for the realities and messiness of a start-up and be a master of making order out of chaos. This includes both operating effectively through the imperfection of today while simultaneously visualizing and pushing towards an orderly vision of the future. Above all, the successful candidate takes full accountability for everything on their plate and relentlessly drive every task to completion.
  • Phase 1: Under the direct supervision of the Co-Founders, you will take ownership of the entire deal pipeline. As these deals are construction projects, each deal has roughly 50 steps to completion. You will learn the business by immersing yourself in the in pipeline and relentlessly seeking to drive velocity. This will entail both direct, person effort as well as driving a staff of on-shore and off-shore resources in addition to working with many external stakeholders. Success in this role requires relentless attention to various excel dashboards and managing/updating these dashboards from a wide range of data sources.
  • Phase 2: As our software platform continues to mature and achieve greater integration with our customers’ systems, you will play a key role in the evolution of our operational model as it becomes more efficient, scaleable, and streamlined.
  • Phase 3: Grow and manage various departments and drive the overall financial health of the business.
Skills & Qualifications
  • 4-10 years of professional experience in the area of business and financial operations including experience in Investment Banking or Private Equity as an Analyst or Associate building financial models.
  • Exceptionally competent in excel including macros, pivot tables, lookups, complex multi-sheet formulas, etc.
  • BS, in Finance, Business Operations or related field.
  • Start-up, ownership mentality.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work daily from Hollywood office until fully ramped-up. Remote work with occasional work social events thereafter.
  • Manage, drive velocity and forecast deal pipeline
  • Manage and project the deal to cash lifecycle
  • Make recommendations regarding staffing levels
  • Interview, train, and onboard staff
  • Various special projects related to financial and business operations as needed
