Betty Hardwick Center is Hiring an IDD Respite Coordinator/CSS Trainer Near Abilene, TX

  • This position reports directly to the IDD Programs Administrator for Adaptive Recreation and GR Services.
  • Hours of work Monday-Friday, with flexibility to work some evenings and weekends to provide Community Support Services and manage the Voucher Respite program for individuals and families in GR services.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and in stressful situations in a positive and professional manner.
  • This position is responsible for working closely with families, Service Coordination, and the Crisis Intervention Specialist to meet the needs of the individuals being served by the Voucher and Crisis Respite programs.
  • Responsible for staff training for respite providers, tracking of Respite utilization for each participant, submitting check requests and paperwork for those individuals hired by the family to provide Respite services through the Voucher program.
  • This position will be required to comply with funding source requirements and standards and operate within the guidelines of the Respite Voucher program
  • This position is responsible for working closely with Service Coordination, to develop , coordinate and monitor outcomes and strategies for individuals in Community Support Services.
  • Responsible for assisting individuals to access community services, providing transportation, assisting with grocery shopping and household chores, medication monitoring, habilitation training, and other duties as required by the services requested by the individuals Service Planning Team and their Person Directed Plan.
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment.
  • Skills in written and oral communication, problem solving and teamwork are essential.
  • Knowledge and experience in use of MS Office and Excel.
  • Must meet established performance targets.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Position requires knowledge and skill in the use of a computer and common office software
  • Must have a current Texas Driver’s License and qualify for Center insurance coverage.
  • Must be willing to transport clients and receive mileage reimbursement.
  • Be able to lift 55lbs
