POSITION PURPOSE
Delivery Manager will be responsible for the management and operation of the Delivery Department through the oversite of safe delivery vehicles and efficient delivery of Beverage South Company’s products to both on and off premise accounts. Directly manages the delivery supervisors while working with the sales and merchandising personnel in an effort to provide superior customer service and retail execution.
Expected to enforce all standards as set forth in Beverage South Company Employee Handbook.
Nature and Scope
The Delivery Manager reports directly to the General Sales Manager. This position is responsible for maximizing customer service by overseeing prompt, efficient and accurate delivery procedures. The DM must also assure quality standards are maintained by each delivery driver ensuring products are properly rotated during every market delivery while executing general market delivery standards. The DM will be responsible for maintaining the fleet of delivery vehicles. This position will oversee all ODOT requirements, fleet maintenance and fleet maintenance records.
It is critical this position work in a safe and courteous manner at all times and follows all local, state and federal laws regarding the sale and delivery of alcoholic beverages.
Performance is measured by achievement of daily work schedule, rotation of products, retail standards, quality of work performed, safety record and overall satisfaction of both internal (sales representatives) and external customers (retailers).

Knowledge and Experience
This position requires 7-10 years of management experience. An emphasis on delivery operations or a similar environment is preferred. This position requires a Class-A commercial driver’s license and a safe driving record. Must be knowledgeable on trucks and truck maintenance. Must have good organizational and prioritization skills. Good oral communication skills required, as well as, the ability develop employee relations and rapport. Must be physically capable of frequent lifting, bending, and turning. Must live within the delivery footprint of the working facility.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ensures proper training through delivery supervisors that all new driving candidates are properly trained and work with all CDL permit holders to pass CDL tests.
Ensure training on all equipment used by the driver and proper safety techniques. This includes proper use of hand trucks and electric pallet jacks. Included is the proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries. Included in this is kegs, etc.
Ensure training for all drivers on the end of day process of unloading trucks, how to care for breakage, where to put empties, how to check in with warehouse, return product to stock and how to tie out the monies. Clean out the truck of all garbage.
Conduct Drivers meetings on a weekly basis to cover safety topics.
