POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

TEMPORARY POSITION

OFFICE: STATE PARK SERVICE

DATE: April 4, 2019

LOCATION: Hunting Island State Park

INTERNAL TITLE: Retail Sales Associate

MINIMUM STARTING SALARY FOR NEW HIRE: Hourly Wage: $9/ Hour

This is a part time, NON- permanent field position, which works a forty-hour rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

JOB PURPOSE:

Under the general supervision of Retail Management, provide excellent customer service to guests by resolving any issues or requests in a timely professional manner. Duties will include but not limited to the following: utilizing the POS and CRS systems accurately and proficiently, keeping retail facilities clean, safe and organized at all times, assist with quarterly inventories, display and merchandise inventory, standing for long periods of time, the ability to work as a team and independently, have general knowledge of the park in order to respond to our customers inquiries.

MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent education. Prior retail experience is beneficial but not required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess or be able to obtain a valid South Carolina Driver's License and be 18 years or older. This position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking and standing on uneven terrain, crawling and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents and other materials used in maintaining park facilities and grounds. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
