A company in Brooklyn, NY, is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team. In this role, you'll manage essential financial duties, such as recording all business financial transactions, creating an internal coding system, and processing payroll. We're looking for a team player who has a strong attention to detail and a commitment to supporting our mission.
Responsibilities Include:
- Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions into proper accounts.
- Update and maintain the general ledger.
- Reconcile entries into the accounting system.
- Post all transactions and record debits and credits.
- Perform account reconciliation to ensure the accuracy of transactions.
- Use knowledge of local laws to comply with reporting requirements.
- Monitor variances from the projected budget.
- Prepare financial statements, such as ledgers, income statements, and balance sheets.
- Utilize appropriate accounting software to manage and automate financial tasks.
- Assist with creating budgets, financial forecasts, and quarterly reports.
- General understanding of main accounting principles, such as accruals and revenue.
- Familiarity with spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis tools.
- Strong data entry skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy.
- Associate's degree or at least one year of experience.
- Knowledge of QuickBooks Online is a must.
- Knowledge of Yardi Software and Rent Manager is a plus.
Salary: $65k - $85k/Year
