Bi County Collaborative is Hiring a Special Education Program Coordinator Near Franklin, MA

The Program Coordinator at our alternative middle and high school plays a critical role in fostering a supportive and effective educational environment for students with diverse needs, including emotional, physical, learning, and neurological disabilities, as well as Autism. This position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, oversight of special education services, and active involvement in student placement and program evaluation. The Program Coordinator will ensure high-quality Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, provide supervision and evaluation to staff, and maintain strong communication with families and school districts.Key Responsibilities:1. Collaboration and Communication:Work collaboratively with school districts, families, and a multidisciplinary team including the Director of Student Services, Program Director of Clinical Services, School Nurse Manager, child psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, school social workers, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Vocational & Transition Personnel, special educators, related service providers, and paraprofessionals.Act as a primary liaison with parents/guardians, special education administrators, sending district liaisons, and community agencies.Coordinate and plan IEP Team meetings with school districts.2. Staff Supervision and Support:Provide direct support, supervision, and evaluation to teachers, related service providers, and support staff.Utilize the MA Educator Evaluation Framework to support and supervise staff in areas including curriculum, planning, assessment, teaching, family and community engagement, and professional culture.3. Student Placement and Evaluation:In cooperation with the Program Director, review student referrals, conduct placement interviews, and participate in meetings to formulate recommendations for educational programming, services, and placement.Oversee the quality of IEP development, quarterly progress reports, and evaluation reports written by staff.4. Program Development and Implementation:Conduct regular staff meetings to review curriculum and instructional activities, supervise student programs, and evaluate program effectiveness.Collaborate with the Program Director on decisions related to student discipline and the execution of interventions aimed at positive student outcomes.This role is essential to ensuring the success of Bi-County's Programs by supporting staff, engaging with families and school districts, and promoting positive educational outcomes for all students.Other duties as assigned by the Principal/Program Director or Executive DirectorCOMPENSATIONNegotiable regionally competitive salary with benefits package.
