Job Description
  • Please note -- We are not expecting candidates to meet all criteria in either the server hardware lab or electrical soldering aspects of this role. Main criteria are experience handling server hardware, server software, server administration, and enough electrical soldering background to independently carry out electrical troubleshooting and 0401 or smaller soldering.
Training:Onsite training is tentatively determined to take place in Redmond WA at our client's campus, for approx. 2-3 weeks. Biblioso will provide for accommodations.

Server Hardware Lab: Approx. 80%Physical InfrastructureManage all aspects of end-to-end physical infrastructure for Hardware Engineering and Testing.
  • Vendor and logistics coordination for deployment.
  • Integrate support and coordination with other lab sites for solution delivery.
  • Physical implementation of racks, network equipment, power distribution units and monitoring and automation tools.
  • Build out and deployment of servers with associated wiring, configuration, and monitoring.
  • Design and deployment of cabling and power needs to support all hardware. Includes all aspects of electrical engineering, board troubleshooting, and validation.
  • Server disassembly/reassembly – can lift up to 35lbs repeatedly.
Administration & Support
  • Design and administer servers, VMs, and private networks/testing domains. Includes the typical admin and tech stack of Hyper-V, AD with integrated DNS and imaging, as well as operations tools such as SCCM.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in new and existing infrastructure.
  • Carry out typical support activities to intake requests for issues and changes, investigate issue root causes, and implement fixes at all software and hardware levels.
  • Implement designs from various teams to support hardware validation and qual work. Includes rapid POC for ad-hoc requests, dedicated bench test support.
  • Enable remote workers to carry out any physical dependencies for qual and validation work.
  • Set up and configure equipment for threshold and physical validation. For example, set up oscilloscopes and capture mechanisms.
  • Coordinate with ODM/ISV and other needs for any onsite physical rework, such as firmware flashing, hotfixes, board soldering.
Electrical/Soldering: Approx. 20%Parse and process incoming tickets, focusing on electrical/solder and special project requests. Instruments development hardware with wires and probes for use with our oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other test equipment. Performs solder reworks down to 0201 SMDs, including multi-pin/dot chip reflow. Trains partners on how to solder and use test equipment. Resolves issues with test equipment, including break/fix and calibration. Provides specifications for internal Ultimate Toolkit and consumables. Actions special project requests. Sanitize, clean and organize labs (Covid-19 protocol).
Job Requirements
  • DevTest Environment: Can work in a DevTest Environment with POC, EVT, DVT and PVT Equipment.
  • Solder: Can remove and install 0402 or smaller components on PCB without damage.
  • Solder Advance: Can re-flow multi-pin SMD using hot-air solder gun.
  • Oscilloscope: Can instrument PCB with Solder Down Single Ended or differential Probes, setup trigger on oscilloscope to capture signal, measure signal using oscilloscope tools, analyze against existing specification.
  • Oscilloscope Advanced: Can perform Data Eye Diagram Capture & Analysis (PCIe).
  • Circuitry Failure Analysis: Given a malfunctioning PCB, can identify the malfunctioning Circuit or Component.
  • Power: Understands difference between AC & DC Power, can measure both using a Digital Multi-Meter.
  • Power Advanced: Understands difference between Single & Three Phase Power, can measure both using Power Meter.
  • x86 Systems: Can setup, teardown and troubleshoot x86 Server Class Systems & Network Switches.
  • x86 Systems Advance: Understands difference between UEFI & Legacy BIOS and how to PXe Install an OS.
  • Networking: Understands the difference between DHCP & DNS and can explain how each is used.
  • Heavy Lifting: Can move and lift up to 35lbs, multiple times per day.
  • Documentation: Candidate has previous experience writing "How-To" documentation or procedures.
  • Bonus - Validation: Can execute and modify/update Mechanical, Electrical & Thermal Test Execution Cases.
