WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Corporate Controller is responsible for managing all aspects of the Company’s financial health, risk management, reporting, tax, insurance, and accounting operations. This will include leading BICO’s monthly and yearly forecasting and budgetary exercises as well reporting to our parent companies’ standards. The Controller will partner with management to drive ambitious growth targets, while successfully integrating the business into the wider international SBO/BICO group. The Controller will govern all aspects of finance and accounting for the company, improve management information, increase accuracy in the budget and forecast process, and drive improvements to the groups’ reporting process. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing the finance team domestically and internationally.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION

•  Ensure accurate monthly and annual financial reporting in line with US and International Financial Reporting Standards
•  Supervise domestic and international finance teams, analyzing reports for revenue/cost/expense variances and advising management
•  Align management reporting with the overall strategy to provide high-quality decision-making information
•  Collaborate with senior management to establish and enforce company policies, goals, controls, and risk management
•  Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, consultants, lawyers, customers, vendors, and government agencies. • Develop and maintain annual 

budgets and forecasts, monitoring variances and reporting significant issues to management

•  Monitor working capital and rental fleet asset balances, coordinating various audits
•  Consolidate global entities, handling intercompany transactions and reporting
•  Manage foreign currency and transfer pricing across international entities
•  Lead monthly and quarterly group reporting, as the main contact for the finance dept. 
•  Oversee Treasury functions to meet cash requirements and manage working capital
•  Monitor debt levels and ensure compliance with debt covenants
•  Explore and process governmental funding opportunities
•  Coordinate and negotiate auto insurance and workers' compensation alongside HR
•  Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements and tax filings

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

•  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance from an accredited university. CPA certification preferred. 
•  Minimum three years of related management experience and/or training with a minimum of eight
  years accounting experience. 
•  Public accounting experience preferred. International and domestic tax experience will be
  considered an asset. 
•  Self-motivated, self-directed and Ability to maintain confidentiality
•  IFRS and US reporting experience is considered an asset, especially in the Oil and Gas Industry
  and Rental business. 
•  Strong communication skills, verbally and in writing. Strong analytic and decision-making skills with
  close attention to details. 
•  Strong business partnering skills with cross–functional depts. 
•  Microsoft Office required, including advanced Excel skills. Experience in MS Dynamics and ERP
  implementation is preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

•  Ability to travel domestically and internationally, 10% or more.
•  Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and components, up to 25 pounds 
•  Ability to operate basic office equipment
•  Sit and/or stand for long periods of time, up to 8-10 hours a day 
•  Walk/travel to production areas while wearing appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), which at a minimum includes safety glasses but could also include steel toe shoes/boots and other PPE
