Brief Job Duties:
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
1. An innovator and bring their own ideas, experience, and expertise to bear on the framework adopted by the district.
2. A successful candidate understands that STEM education in general, is the nexus of scientific inquiry and engineering design. Helping students understand how scientific knowledge develops, and encouraging investigations, modeling, trial and error, and the testing of hypothesis in which each of the four disciplines of STEM converge.
3. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to create a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.
4. Regularly assesses each student's academic and social growth, maintains appropriate and timely records, and prepares progress reports.
5. Communicates with parents through conferences and other means such as newsletters, email, phone calls, student information system postings (as applicable), web pages, blogs, and other electronic means to discuss student's progress as it relates to curriculum.

Certification/License:Certification in Science ( 340M) or Elementary Education ( 020) from the Maine Department of Education
Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
Education:Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Masters Degree in related area preferred.
Experience:Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels is preferred but not required.
