The Biden For President Campaign is seeking a Security Automation Engineer to prepare for, protect against, detect, respond to, and recover from security threats. You will be responsible for streamlining security operations on the campaign through the use of automation to increase efficiency and efficacy of our security tooling.
The Security Automation Engineer will work on the Security team which is responsible for ensuring consistent evaluation and improvement of our cybersecurity posture across the organization and broader ecosystem. More broadly, the IT & Security department is responsible for standing up and maintaining a robust technology infrastructure while safeguarding our valuable information assets. We are looking for candidates with a variety of backgrounds and experience, and are dedicated to building a team that looks like America.
Key Responsibilities

• Help advance security operations technologies and processes through automation and integration of threat detection and protection solutions.
• Work cross functionally with the IT team to ensure security solutions are not only correctly implemented, but that they are continuously monitorable and auditable
• Perform detailed security event analysis and incident handling by automating routine and manual tasks
• Collaborate closely with SOC teams to understand operational needs and develop automation strategies that improve detection capabilities and operational efficiency
• Create and maintain scripts in Python or other scripting languages to automate data processing and analysis, contributing to the continuous improvement of SOC analytics
• Document automation processes and provide comprehensive training materials to enable SOC analysts to effectively use new tools and procedures

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• 4-5 years of experience in cybersecurity with a strong focus on SOC operations, incident response, and automation
• Expertise in security automation, including the development of custom tools and scripts, with proficiency in Python and familiarity with other scripting languages
• Strong skills in API integrations and orchestrating security tools to enhance SOC operations and threat handling processes
• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• A proactive mindset in identifying potential security threats and crafting automated mechanisms for early detection and response

$90,000 - $100,000 a year
