Position OverviewPrepare reports which summarize the company business activity and financial position and supervises activities of the accounting department
Essential Job Functions
- Oversee and manage the accounting team, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and general accounting.
- Coordinate and assist with the monthly close activities, ensuring completion of monthly close in a timely manner and accurate financial results in compliance with IFRS, Sarbanes Oxley and Eastern Corporate Compliance.
- Assist in overseeing daily activities related to payables, receivables, fixed assets, banking activity and general ledger.
- Month end support of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation review of accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash and payroll for multiple entities.
- Reconcile intercompany transactions.
- Complete percentage of completion analysis for the Mold Division.
- Establish and implement internal controls across the company as well as assist in completing written policies and procedures for the accounting department.
- Perform quarterly internal audits of accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll and financial statements to confirm proper booking and steady accounting.
- Support with quarterly and yearly financial audits with both internal and external audit teams.
- Assist in preparing property tax filings with local and state agencies.
- Develop and manage accounting teams’ performance, goals, and provide ongoing training.
- Provide backup support when team members are out of the office.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reporting for management as needed.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience required.
- Must be able to build relationships with internal/external customers, business units, plants and central function groups.
- Must be able to provide sound technical accounting guidance and support
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Sage and JobBoss (preferred).
- Strong internal control experience.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Must be a team player and willing to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance or related field.
- Speak, read, and write in the English language
- Operate Office Machines & Equipment
