Big-D Construction, a National General Contractor of award-winning projects built by exceptional people, has a Training Coordinator opportunity located in Salt Lake City, UT.

The Training Coordinator is responsible to help align the vision of the Learning and Development department with relevant learning initiatives that support corporate operations and business units across Big-D Companies. We are looking for a passionate and collaborative team player that can support the development of engaging programming and communicate with stakeholders effectively. This individual will have the proven ability to complete the full training cycle (assess, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate) and research new educational material while understanding current and future trends within the field of people development. 

Experience/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalency.

Critical Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be self-driven, detail oriented and able to work independently
  • Familiar with a variety of multimedia training methods and platforms
  • Passionate about learning and the development of people
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation

Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations: (other duties may be assigned to meet business needs)

  • Hands on management of the learning management system, including curation of content, course evaluation and troubleshooting for the UX experience
  • Schedule and coordinate internal trainings
  • Market company training opportunities and provide information on benefits to encourage participation
  • Track progress of employees through learning pathways and communicate and encourage continued growth
  • Consult with internal customers in choosing the appropriate training methods for internal training inquiries
  • Create training aids and relevant internal collateral
  • Research and collaborate new training methods that will engage associates and reinforce learning objective
  • Assist in conducting organization-wide needs assessment and identify knowledge gaps that need to be addressed.
  • Beginner Instructional Design
  • Gather feedback from trainers and trainees after each educational session
  • Maintain training records and development activities through the LMS
  • Ensure timely completion of projects by meeting deadlines and milestones while working both independently and collaboratively within the team
  • Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development and adult learning theory
  • Processing L&D related invoice, external trainer travel and accommodations and other administrative tasks
  • Exemplifies the desired culture and values of the department and organization while working collaborative and respectfully as a team member
  • Performs other related duties as needed on special assignments and other projects that progress the company to achieve the goals for the learning and development department
