Big Leap Health is Hiring a Clinical Operations Manager Near New York, NY

About Big Leap

Big Leap Health is democratizing access to breakthrough mental health treatments. We connect people with vetted clinics who provide treatments such as Spravato, TMS & more covered by insurance.

At Big Leap Health, we believe breakthrough mental health treatments are a pillar in the journey toward achieving our fullest potential but are often too expensive and inaccessible for most. We focus on making cutting-edge treatments like Spravato, TMS, Ketamine, and other innovative therapies accessible to all through insurance coverage. These aren't just treatments; they're gateways to resilience, empathy, hope, and strength.

We’re building technology and tools to help clinics offer these treatments more easily, while enabling patients to use their insurance benefits to receive these life changing treatments. While currently in stealth, we’ve raised $3M from top VCs and angels and have already signed numerous customers.

About The Role

As the founding Clinical Operations Manager (reporting to the COO), you will be responsible for establishing clinical, operational, & regulatory infrastructure for new clinic onboarding, supporting existing clinics, and upholding the standards of clinical excellence expected by our partners and our patients. This role is responsible for operational execution of our clinic partnerships, and for developing the process and infrastructure to enable us to scale efficiently and rapidly.

This role is ideal for someone who has strong clinical operations experience in an inpatient, outpatient, or virtual care setting. This role is for a doer, who is excited about joining a rapidly growing (and well funded) startup on the ground floor as one of its first team members.

In the role, you will establish processes in:

  • Clinician credentialing
  • Prior authorization management
  • Billing & coding
  • Denials management
  • Payment reconciliation
  • Quality management

Located in the New York area; we’re open to remote applicants but local candidates are preferred.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of professional experience
  • Extensive experience in clinical operations and clinical workflow development
  • You have a very high level of comfort with all elements of revenue cycle management
  • You have at least 2-3 years of experience managing people and teams
  • You are highly organized and have extremely strong written and verbal communication, as well as project management skills
  • You are a collaborator – eager and adept at working with an early stage team to seed the growth of a transformative business.
  • You have (or want) startup experience.

Application and Hiring Process:

  1. Submit your resume and any supporting materials
  2. A 30 minute screening call with our COO
  3. A take home exercise (~2 hours)
  4. 2 x 45 minute interviews, one of which will be skills-focused (technical) and the other culture/values fit
  5. Decision

What’s In It For You

  • Culture of Excellence: Our leadership team has decades of experience at successful VC backed startups with several exits, and we’re devoted to applying lessons learned to transforming mental health treatment for those most in need.
  • Strong Apprenticeship & Coaching: We expect all our early hires to grow into leaders in our company and the industry, and we are committed to helping you get there.
  • Joining the Ground Floor: This is an opportunity to join the formative stages of a company that is democratizing access to a rapidly evolving field of healthcare that is transforming mental health across the country. We’re at an exciting inflection point, and you’ll be working with a world-class team and given the opportunity to learn and grow rapidly.

You’ll also enjoy the following benefits:

  • Industry-leading cash compensation for a startup of our stage
  • Generous equity
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • New company Apple laptop
  • $1,000 flexible home office budget

This is a unique opportunity to join an early team of experienced healthcare operators. If you’re excited by this, or the prospect of improving patient access to breakthrough mental health treatments, contact us!

Compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000, depending on experience; actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, location, as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
