Big Lots is Hiring a Manager, Category Procurement (IT) Near Columbus, OH

Description

Responsible for assisting with a variety of strategic Procurement activities. Executes sourcing strategies and create sourcing plans for assigned Indirect/Non-Merch categories of spend. Owns mid and high complexity categories or sub-categories and works with stakeholders to build and execute against a multi-year category strategy. Conducts market research, vets new and potential suppliers, and manages contractual relationships with existing suppliers and ensure timely business review and compliance with KPIs and contract terms. Creates and executes strategic sourcing events based on category sourcing cadence and business needs as appropriate.

1. Support the implementation of best practice procurement vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures across assigned categories.
2. Focus on the following areas: Contract negotiations and contract management, savings identification, issue and risk management, cross-functional stakeholder management, and supplier development.
3. Negotiate contracts with assigned mid-complex and leverage suppliers to secure advantageous terms while working closely with legal department; negotiate with suppliers to improve pricing, product quality, and delivery.
4. Sourcing and engaging suppliers with focus on total cost management to generate cost savings based off annual category strategies.
5. Partner with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and Legal to execute agreements (i.e. MSAs, SOWs, Amendments, etc.).
6. Fully manages assigned category, program, or project activity aligned with savings goals and category strategies.
7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
8. Creates and executes multi-year strategic sourcing pipeline in collaboration with business stakeholders.

Qualification

1. 5 years of procurement experience in addition to demonstration of the following skills: experience in negotiations, contract development and management, supplier relationship management, e-procurement, building and executing eRFx events.
2. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a category-related field.
3. Experience owning procurement categories and leading sourcing initiatives or projects.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
5. Capable of building strong relationship with stakeholders and suppliers.
6. Contract management experience and familiarity with basic contract structures, key metrics and performance indicators, terms and conditions, etc.
7. Ability to interpret metrics such as TCO, NPV and ROI.
8. Outstanding Analytical skills and organizational skills.
9. Previous experience with SAP, DocuSign, a plus.
10. Experience with e-Procurement and Contract Lifecycle tools.
11. Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain effective relationships of trust and credibility with internal customers that lead to stronger buy-in and commitment within client groups; consistently meets or exceeds commitments with quick turnaround.
12. Conducts all work in an ethical, professional, and confidential manner.
