Serves as a partner with Store Operations regional, district, and store leaders to execute people strategies to support company vision and business priorities in assigned region. This role has accountability for up to 200 stores. Provides consultative support and partnership to leaders and associates within their region, and proactively anticipates and analyzes trends to develop and implement solutions that support business initiatives. Provides direction to Store Operations and Asset Protection leaders regarding decisions affecting terms and conditions of employment for associates within the designated region. Provides strategic, creative and collaborative leadership to influence business results pertaining to associate engagement, performance management, talent development, succession planning, diversity and inclusion, communication, and change management. Proactively diagnoses issues and opportunities and takes necessary action to bring timely resolutions.
1. Partners with leaders to ensure strategic people plans drive business results, optimize customer service, and align with company’s mission, vision, and values. Executes people strategies within their region that support business needs and objectives including new store growth, revenue programs and supporting a “best places to grow” culture.
2. Provides strategic guidance and promotes high performance through coaching, constructive and regular feedback, and assists with the annual performance evaluation process. Coaches leaders on change management strategies and conflict resolution techniques.
3. Provides support and guidance to business partners on strategy pertaining to succession planning, staffing, team development, survey action planning, recognition, communication and team engagement.
4. Provides direction regarding interpretation and usage of Human Resources policies and procedures and regulatory requirements within the region. Provides guidance on policy exceptions as needed.
5. Establishes the key human resource priorities within the region to ensure the alignment to overall company and business strategy.
6. Participates in the interview and selection process for region and district leaders to ensure top talent meeting our results expectations and operating within our success factors is hired and retained.
7. Responds to associate relations issues by investigating and resolving concerns and complaints. Reviews circumstances, documentation and provides authorization for actions to be taken.
8. Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal labor and employment laws when executing decisions. Monitors legal trends and pursues information regarding legal developments within employment law. Informs regional leaders about trends and proactively manages to those trends.
9. Responds to Corporate Headquarters requests for information and/or support as needed.
1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum of three years of general Human Resources Management experience supporting multiple locations including recruitment, associate relations, development, strategic workforce planning, human resources policies and procedures, and labor law required.
3. Excellent verbal and written communications, situational savvy, and organizational skills required.
4. Proven leadership skills required.
5. Current PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/-SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
