BIG ROCK SPORTS is Hiring a Distribution Supervisor Near Sauk Rapids, MN

Job PurposeAs a Distribution Center Supervisor, you will be the operational captain over various day-to-day responsibilities of the warehouse operations as directed by DC management responsibilities. The Supervisor is tasked with communicated effectively with Team Leaders and warehouse associates to ensure efficient workflows, maintain inventory accuracy, and being accountable for large teams, departments, or shifts of warehouse associates. You will play a key role in coordinating tasks, communicating with a peer group of supervisors, or coordinating through Team Leaders to flow customer orders, move staffing, and maintain balance to optimize efficiency and achieve daily goals and objectives for the operation. Warehouse Supervisors are tasked to be a “Servant Leader” of the facility, meaning that you consistently put the needs of your team first, empower them, and enable their success through the virtues of humility and empathy with an emphasis on collaboration and team building. DC Supervisors must communicate constantly and effectively in a high stress, fast-paced environment, require thoughtful decision-making, fostering teamwork, and enforcing safety protocols to optimize productivity and meet organizational goals. To be an effective leader, the Supervisor must ensure the highest levels of safety, performance, utilization, and efficiency, while working within Big Rock Sports Five Core Values. This role requires proven leadership skills, experience in developing and motivating teams and individuals, and consistent achievement of performance results.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Supervision and Leadership:
  • Lead and motivate a team of team leads to achieve performance targets and meet deadlines.
  • Leads by providing an open communication environment where each team member’s input is encouraged and respected.
  • Ensures proper training for all employees within the distribution center.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment conducive to high productivity and employee engagement.
  • Proactively work with leads on coaching solutions to drive up employee performance, utilization, and efficiency.
  • Operational Management:
  • Be a daily self-starter, arriving with a goal-setting plan with facility leadership that clearly communicates area goals, posts daily performance reporting an actively engaging in coaching discussions to drive performance goals.
  • Administrative task: timecard approval, warnings for attendance; weekly performance checks (ACT Reviews), annual merit reviews.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as logistics, procurement, and customer service, to fulfill orders and troubleshooting employee problems to resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure daily handoffs between 1st shift to 2nd shift are completed where appropriate.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement efficiency-enhancing initiatives to streamline workflows and reduce operational costs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze data to identify trends, address bottlenecks, and improve overall warehouse performance, utilization, and efficiency.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Maintain warehouse 5S and cleanliness standards and ensure employee clean-as-you-go compliance for a safe workplace.
  • Enforce safety regulations and best practices to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, address hazards, and promote adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct OSHA investigations in partnership with HR as needed.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older. High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office applications, utilizing Outlook, Excel, and Teams daily for various reporting and communications.
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles, warehouse best practices, and safety regulations.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Successful completion of background and drug testing.
