Big Slate Media is Hiring a Line Producer Near Knoxville, TN

Big Slate Media is a Knoxville-based content creation agency specializing in video production. Founded in 2015, we help our partners create content that doesn’t suck by developing authentic, versatile, and forward-thinking visual stories.

Artistry, ingenuity, authenticity – we challenge our clients to consider the meaning of these words as they apply to content strategy. We believe these three values lead to engaging and effective campaigns that connect audiences with brands and ultimately foster relationships poised to transcend transactions.

We’re a small – but mighty – team working with major brands like Fox Sports, HGTV, The Tennessee Theatre, Clayton, KUB, the Knoxville Chamber, Blount Partnership, and many others. We’ve even done some drone work on the Netflix docu-series, Bad Vegan. Sure, we work with some big brands, but the majority of our work is for small, community-based businesses and non-profit organizations just trying to move the needle or tell their story.

Our team is growing, and we’re looking for a highly motivated and creative person to join our team in a full-time position as a Line Producer. We’ve tried our best to explain what we’re lookin’ for in the info below:

The gist is this…

First and foremost, we need someone who is fun, creative, and gels well with our team and clients. We’re a goofy group, so weirdness is welcomed. Secondly, this person needs to eat, sleep and breathe details and good communication skills. It’s necessary they have experience managing multiple clients at the same time, are organized, and communicate well both on set and digitally. Finally, we’re looking for a jack of all trades – someone who understands good communication, camera operations, editing, photography, and what a team needs to be successful in each of those areas.

So what’s the gig?

Project Management:

  • Lead and manage all phases of production projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Develop project timelines, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with the production team and development team.
  • Coordinate with clients, directors, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliverables.

Creative Development:

  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop concepts, scripts, and storyboards.

  • Ensure the overall vision of the project aligns with client expectations and Big Slate Media’s standards of quality.

Production Oversight:

  • Oversee production crews, including hiring, scheduling, and managing day-to-day activities on set.
  • Manage logistics such as locations, permits, equipment rentals, and catering.
  • Monitor production progress and resolve any issues that may arise during filming\

Budgeting and Finance:

  • Create and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring adherence to financial constraints.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and freelance personnel to achieve cost-effective production solutions.

Post-Production Coordination:

  • Supervise the editing process to ensure the final product meets quality standards and client specifications.
  • Collaborate with editors, sound designers, and visual effects artists to achieve desired results.
  • Manage the delivery of final assets, including formats required for distribution and client approval.

Client Relations:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Communicate project updates, milestones, and deliverables effectively to clients and internal teams.
  • Address client feedback and incorporate revisions as necessary throughout the production process.
