Salary: $625 per week, plus approved overtime.
Available: September 4, 2024 (36-week term through May 21, 2025)
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Commissioner of Digital Media and members of the Public Relations staff. Duties include:
1. The Video Production Intern will observe and assist the Assistant Commissioner of Digital Media with the daily management and production of the conference’s video content
2. This intern's workload will be divided as follows: 75% video production, 15% asset management and 10% other digital media/marketing content creation
3. Produce, shoot and edit video packages, including but not limited to, features, highlights, promotions, championship recaps and special projects for Big South Network and social platforms
4. The intern will be expected to learn and take feedback throughout experience, and resources will be available to facilitate the edification process at intern’s initiative
5. Potential for on-camera or voice-over experience at intern’s initiative
6. Assist with maintaining organization of video archives and assets
7. Assist with video coverage of major hosted events and Championships, as assigned
8. Edit video in Adobe Premiere Pro and ability to follow and modify a template in Adobe After Effects and Photoshop
9. This position will also assist in the maintenance and technical functionality of video equipment
10. By the end of the internship, the intern will have received first-hand experience in video content production for digital media platforms and videography in a collaborative team and departmental environment
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required. At least 1-2 years of experience working in video production is desired. Applicants should have a knowledge of all sports. Additional qualifications include:
Experience in video production and editing on Adobe Premiere
Formal training in videography and storytelling
Experience shooting on professional camcorders, studio, broadcast or DSLR cameras
Experience in video interviewing
Understanding of the video production process
Ability to plan, organize and execute video projects, when delegated
Experience on sets with lighting, audio and video
Experience in graphic design and Photoshop
