Bike Walk Wichita is Hiring an Executive Director Near Wichita, KS

Title: Executive Director

Summary: BWW is committed to transforming Wichita into a more livable, accessible, connected city by making biking walking safe, equitable, and appealing. BWW is at a pivotal time in its development having moved to a large and visible location with a successful capital campaign nearing completion, burgeoning operations which present a challenge to sustain from month-to-month, a new and ambitious strategic plan, and well-established partnership in Wichita and across the state. The ED is responsible for over-seeing staff and volunteers in the daily operation of BWW programs and services. The position is supported by an active board of directors, five part-time staff, and volunteer workgroups focusing on specific program areas and events. The ED will be leading BWW to implement the strategic plan, build financial stability, strengthen volunteer engagement, support outstanding staff, foster community support and external partner relationships, and advocate for the BWW mission with governments and the public.

The ideal applicant demonstrates the following:
1. Three-years’ experience in a NP leadership position.
2. Prior success fundraising and/or grant writing to governments, foundations, and/or private donors.
3. Demonstrated ability to deliver grant outcomes once funding is acquired.
4. Ability to actuate strategic plans adhering to timetables and tracking progress.
5. Experience supporting and supervising paid staff and/or volunteers.
6. A track record of building positive and productive relationships with community partners and/or government officials.
7. Ability to communicate the BWW mission effectively to a wide range of audiences.
8. References who can attest to a reputation of transparent and trustworthy interactions.

9. A fierce commitment to serving diverse communities in creative and collaborative ways.

Job Duties:
1. Manage grants received, ensuring goals and reporting are completed on time.
2. Create and retain revenue streams from grants, sponsorships, and donors.
3. Develop and update an annual fund development plan including projections from private donations, grants, memberships, and events.
4. Develop and manage BWW’s budget in accordance with strategic and operational plans. 5. Manage daily operations in accordance with finance policies/procedures communicating with the BWW treasurer as needed.
6. Coordinate vendor relationships with staff, appropriate committees and the BWW board.

7. Prepare materials and prepare workgroups for monthly meetings.

8. Facilitate monthly membership meetings including presentations from workgroups and others in support of an informed and active member base.

9. Ensure that workgroups and programs develop and track evaluation measures according to the BWW strategic plans.

10. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with groups and organizations whose missions align with Bike Walk Wichita to maximize programming, opportunities and financial support.

11. Ensure communications are timely and reflect the mission and goals of Bike Walk Wichita. Represent the organization at public events, media events, conferences, and workshops.

12. Uphold Bike Walk Wichita values and follow BWW policies/procedures and hold others accountable to do the same.

13. Meet with staff to support their development and ensure awareness of concerns and opportunities.

14. Board Relations
a. Communicate effectively with the Board.
b. Provide resources to support the Board in their role.
c. Attend monthly Governance Committee meetings to set the Board Meeting agenda.

Job Type: Full-time Salaried
Starting compensation is $48,000 annually with health care allowance. Four weeks (20 days) per year paid vacation. Opportunities for compensation growth.
