Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Job Summary: The Commercial Lines Account Executive performs the essential functions of the position, which include securing new business and maintaining good relations with existing clients. Executives introduce new products to the market and promote them to clients, while explaining which policies fit best for particular areas. Specific service and marketing responsibilities are required in this position. Meets service and sales delivery standards and performs essential functions to the quality and service standards developed by the agency.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Analyzing client needs, coverage forms and quotations.
· Creates applications to eligible and appropriate carriers for new business quoting.
· Customize insurance programs to suit individual customers, often covering a variety of risks.
· Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals for word processing as needed.
· Inspect property, examining its general condition, type of construction, age, and other characteristics, to decide if it is a good insurance risk.
· Ensure that policy requirements are fulfilled, including any necessary medical examinations and the completion of appropriate forms.
· Annually reviews renewals with clients.
· Reviews audits of policies; verifies accuracy and facilitates corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.
· Perform administrative tasks, such as maintaining records and handling policy renewals.
· Processes incoming mail and phone requests, responding promptly and appropriately.
· Identifies exposure to loss and recommends appropriate coverages.
· Work with clients to deliver risk management strategies that fit their risk profiles.
· Constantly update job knowledge and learn about new products and services.
· Fulfill all policy requirements.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

· Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
· Maintains a cordial and effective relationship with clients, coworkers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts.
· Keeps informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
· Interacts with others effectively by utilizing good communications skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the agency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years customer service experience and sales.
· Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
· Ability to understand written and oral communication and interpret abstract information.
· Property, Casualty, Life & Health Insurance Producer License.
· Knowledge of insurance products and usages.
· Knowledge of insurance markets and reference to markets.
· Knowledge of insurance rating and underwriting procedures.
· Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
· Familiarity with computer and word processing programs.
· Ability to process written and other materials visually.
Working Conditions
· High pressured, fast-paced environment with significant telephone and personal disruption. Large number of multiple steps in complex system performed with accuracy and speed is essential to the successful completion of tasks.
