Biltmore Company is Hiring a Wine Production Crew Leader - Bottling Line- Full Time Near Asheville, NC

Job DescriptionThe Production Bottling Line Crew Leader is responsible for the and day to day procedures and standards that ensure effective operation of the Winery Production bottling and disgorging activities. The Crew Leader will accomplish a wide range of duties that address and improve the SOP’s to assist the Production Operations Leadership team in meeting the operational, financial and volume goals of the department. The Crew Leader will accomplish this through fostering an environment of teamwork between all department employees and with active communication between departments leadership team and incoming delivery personnel. He/She will also be the procedural subject matter expert who assists in the training and coaching of bottling and disgorging staff as well as document and update SOP’s, standards, and auditing those to make improvements.
Full Time: a position working 32 hours per week Essential Job Duties
  • Responsible for the day to day production scheduling of the bottling and disgorging lines.
  • Responsible for the completion of all bottling orders as well as the safe and efficient operation of the bottling equipment based on use of correct SOP’s by all staff members.
  • Completes the movement of finished goods from the Winery to Winery Warehouse (Oval Rd.)
  • Provides advice on staff members’ ability to follow SOP’s. Where additional coaching or performance feed-back is needed by the Production leadership team, advises on how to improve overall productivity and processes.
  • Keeps and organizes records pertaining to the movement of inventory as it is created and moved to finished goods.
  • Complete timely PM’s on bottling and disgorging
  • Oversees the efficient and organized implementation of yearly materials inventory and audit.
  • Provide weekly rough inventory numbers to materials purchasing.
  • Co-ordinate the unloading, check in and storage of incoming bottling and packaging materials.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma (or GED). Additional training and/or education helpful.
  • Current and valid NC drivers license as well as the eligibility to obtain a forklift certification.
  • At least two years’ experience in high speed bottling and packaging or equivalent expertise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office and Vintners is preferred.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast paced and team oriented environment.
Physical Requirements
  • Required to lift up to 50 pounds consistently and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
  • The incumbent will work in a warehouse environment with varying temperature and climate conditions.
  • Ability to stand and walk 6-8 hours daily.
  • Visual acuity and hearing sufficient to safely operate a forklift in tight quarters.
