Job Description
Our client is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer, with a preference for specializing in Power Electronics Hardware and/or Control Design. This role is entry-level and requires 5 years of experience.
Electrical Engineers will be involved in:
Control PCB design and testing of SiC-based power electronic converter topologies including active rectifiers, isolated DC-DC converters, solid-state-transformers, and high-speed motor drives Design and test DSP-based digital control algorithms, FPGA-supported pulse-width-modulators, and development of a computer-based interface for digital control PCBs Detailed digital control PCB designs including integration of FPGAs, A/D converters, and communications protocols including CAN, RS485, Modbus, and high-speed fiber Design embedded control algorithms, harmonic compensators, software PLLs, and other embedded algorithms Develop Controller-Hardware-in-the-Loop test setups, control PCBs, and control algorithms
Minimum Requirements:
United States Citizenship required due to US Government ITAR program restrictions
5 years of electrical engineering experience
BS in electrical engineering, computer science, or related major required, with a minimum 3.3 GPA, MS and PhDs a plus
Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
The following experience is not required, but highly desirable:
Designing and/or controlling motor drives, AC-DC, and DC-AC converters
High-speed communications development with high-performance FPGAs
Experience programming various microcontrollers, DSPs, and FPGAs.
Direct work with TI C2000 DSPs and Altera FPGAs
Hands-on experience with OPAL-RT, Typhoon, PLECS RT Box or other HIL platforms
