FLSA Status: Full Time / Exempt

Pay Range: $75,000 to $80,000 Annually (dependent on experience/qualifications). Salary is based on Long Beach, CA location, and will be adjusted for candidates in other states if required.

Job Purpose: Under general direction of the Finance Systems Controller the Project Analyst is responsible for coordinating billing and invoicing activities for BGE projects. This position will handle all the accounting associated with project Client Billing and all related system transactions (Net Suites), including project accounting while working closely with the Finance Systems Controller, Corporate Controller and the project managers to ensure timely and accurate billing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinates and prepares all aspects of project billing
• Tracks costs to the various projects to ensure adherence to budget
• Enters contracts and change orders into ERP system
• Collaborates with Project Managers on billings to ensure all costs are captured and allocated appropriately
• Participates in month end close process and preparation of financials
• Performs project and account reconciliations as directed
• Assist and answer operations accounting and system questions
• Verifies revenue recognition criteria is satisfied prior to processing billing
• Tracks and ensures timely timesheet inputs to projects
• Verifies accuracy of billing data, correcting any errors
• Covers Finance Systems Controller duties when required
• These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• 4-year business degree or equivalent and minimum 5 years’ experience in project accounting, financial analysis, or billing
• Strong understanding of project accounting within construction or engineering services
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
• Proficient with MS Office tools with advanced MS Excel skills
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with a full integrated ERP system (prefer Net Suites)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
