Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of this role is to operate and become an expert operator of multiple pellet mills at a premium wood pellet plant in Burnsville, MS. This is a cross-trained facility so additional team redundancy tasks will include operation of a forklift, end loader, and bagging equipment. This position will report directly to the Plant Manager.
This is a plant expansion. We would like to fill this position while we are installing the equipment to have the operator assist and be part of the assembly team for a greater understanding of the operation.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibility is to operate and become an expert on the pelleting equipment line and monitor related equipment tied to the process which include but limited to:
o Conveyors
o Hammermill
o Pellet Mills
o Chip Screens
o Manual and automatic/robotic packaging equipment.
Cross trained tasks include the safe operation of all material handling equipment, including but not limited to: 
o Forklifts 
o Front end loaders
o Skid steer with bucket and fork attachments
o Scissors lifts
  •  Perform quality control tests on product per testing requirements to monitor and improve quality as needed. Ability to complete production, quality, and maintenance reports as required to maintain equipment and quality control.
  •  Perform operator level preventive, scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance per equipment maintenance directives.
  • Operate hand/power tools and analytical equipment as required.
  • Assist the Manager in the updating and maintenance of plant records to include but not limited to training records, inventory control and plant operating standards/procedures.
  • Follow safety/environmental rules and regulations. 
  • Work with all employees in a team effort of attaining quality, safety, and production goals. 
  •  Perform housekeeping assignments as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED is required. 
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and have reliable transportation to and from work. 
  • Ability to read, write and speak in the English language and perform basic mathematical computations. 
  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds and work in conditions where dust masks and breathing protection may be used as needed. 
  • OSHA training is a plus.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
