POSITION TITLE: Accountant I - Receivables, Receipts
SALARY RANGE: $47,840 - $52,000 annually
FLSA STATUS: Full Time, Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Accounting Manager
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Accountant I will be responsible for the accounts receivable and receipts function.
Individual subscribes to and promotes Bivona’s mission, vision, and values. Functions as an active team member to achieve agency and department goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Process daily mail
· Prepare/process bank deposits
· Provide bank deposit details to the Development department
· Review bank account for electronic receipts and disbursements
· Record all receipts both from the bank deposits and electronic receipts
· Prepare accounts receivable invoices and follows up on unpaid accounts
· Review accounts receivable balances with Director of Development
· Represents the Finance department at special events as requested by Development
· Assist with preparation of supporting schedules for annual audit
· Other finance tasks as requested
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Minimum three (3) years of accounts receivable work experience
· Not-for-profit experience preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
· Outstanding computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Windows
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
· High comfort level with online technology (web-based applications)
· Exceptional attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
· Ability to maintain highly confidential information
· Strong organization and time management skills
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
· Respect for diversity and a commitment to providing culturally competent and inclusive services
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift 10 lbs. occasionally
