Title: Environmental Specialist
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah – (On-site)
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
This position isresponsible for ensuring Kern River compliance with local, state, and federalenvironmental regulations associated with pipeline project development,permitting, construction and operations support.
Typical Duties
·Annual air permit compliance reporting,preparation, and review of air emissions calculations for permitting, andemissions inventories.
·Review state, federal, and local regulations forcompliance tracking.
·Knowledge of state and federal environmentalregulations, such as greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting and common air pollutants(both criteria and hazardous).
·Experience with air emissions inventory,emission stack testing requirements, greenhouse gases, and periodic air permitreports.
·Prepares and submits applications to procureenvironmental permits, approvals, variances, and other authorizations.
·Supports/Advises various departments andorganizations concerning company compliance with environmental regulations.
·Coordinates the planning and implementation ofthe requirements of various agencies, such as the Clean Water Act and Clean AirAct.
·Coordinates the planning and implementation ofwaste management and remediation activities.
·Serves as liaison to environmental regulatoryagencies in support of company functions.
·Develops and maintains necessary documentationrelated to environmental compliance programs.
·Performs environmental compliance audits and duediligence investigations.
·Conducts required environmental training andperiodic employee awareness programs.
Qualifications
·A bachelor's degree in environmental science,engineering, or other related natural resource field or equivalent and four-sixyears of environmental experience. (Typically, six years of related,progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for thisposition who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
·Basic math and writing skills, includingspelling and grammar.
·Ability to analyze and judge reports andrecords.
·Effective oral and written communication skillsand ability to negotiate.
·Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
·Good organizational skills.
·Valid driver's license and ability to travel toremote locations.
·Employees must be able to perform the essentialfunctions of the position, with or without accommodation.
